Meditation Practice and Weekly Buddhist Teaching
Regular practices are open to all and are offered once or twice a week as outlined in the schedule below.
Sessions include silent meditation and loving kindness meditation practice. Each session is followed by a Dharma teaching provided by Dharmata teachers Jan Cook and Sue Kochan or visiting teacher Ani Trime. We occassionally play recorded Dharma talks offered by Anam Thubten Rinpoche. Teachings are often followed by mindful discussion.
This year our sangha is concentrating on an in-depth examination of the Four Noble Truths taught by the Buddha himself. This examination will be based on the book Dancing With Life by Phillip Moffitt. This exploration is appropriate for new and experienced practitioners with a genuine interest in the path of awakening.
May this be the year we learn to be present to the conditions of our lives,
just as they are, allowing our hearts to open fully
to the peace, joy and wisdom of who we are.
Preparation to attend a practice session
Please bring a cushion, a blanket, or anything you need to be comfortable. There will be chairs available for anyone who prefers to be off the floor. Tea will be available. Everyone is welcome, and no worries if you arrive a few minutes late. Just come in, settle in, and enjoy. No previous experience is required. Just bring an open heart! :-)
